there are 325 million middle class in china making $60k/year in china out of their 1.4 billion people. one quarter of them take in 7 figures. and there are more billionaires in china than anywhere in the WORLD. this is because of the sheer size of their population. and their middle class is more people than the entire united states, and how did they get there? at ours and europe's expense.

their intent is to move the working class into cities next 40 years to drive that figure up to 800 million. for that to happen, people in other nations will have to lose.

the US prospered after WW2, because russia and china stayed within communism, while we ATE THE FREE LUNCH. this has changed. The US is approaching somewhat of a quasi socialist/capitalist state.

Bro, you can't play victim when America volunteers to move the jobs freely. The ruling elite class in America has gotten extremely rich from the deal. Apple now a days makes half their profits from China. In addition many of this corporations and ruling class refuse to bring their money from overseas as they don't want to get taxed on it. There is a lot of anger towards the 1% in American society after decades of policy that favor them over the majority.

It is crazy that we don't even let our own companies bring their own money back into the US. Triple taxation.

Agreed, and our corporate tax policies need to be revised to better compete in this globalized economy. Lower tax rates would help. At the same time companies that endlessly search for tax havens to base their shell companies out of need to be dealt with. Not sure if just lowering the tax rate can fix this, it could just lead to a competitive war on lowering corporate tax rates between diff countries.

Is it bad because there are so many immigrants? how racist are you?Flushing's commercial rent is comparable to Manhattan. It becomes so prosperous because of the chinese.

3,333 is still way too much to collect all day, every single day. Even if you're able, I'm not sure there are even that many available on a daily basis, unless these elderly ladies can cover an entire borough and you know they couldn't possibly physically do that.

The math just doesn't work out. People need to stop being so gullible and just believe everything told to them.

white flight has been going on for a long time in flushing/bayside because of rising rents and costs and not as white flight in past, when the city headed towards slum. the main flight of italians and irish were in the 70's and early 80's.. ironically, the "whites" who remain got gentrified by the chinese past 15 years. as places in the city and brooklyn where blacks/hispanics got gentrified by whites. the people who remain are old generation who refused to leave. i agree there are many chinese immigrants flooding the area, but if you speak to any RE agent, prices just go higher wherever the chinese go. flushing/bayside has quadrupled since the 80's and 90's. a chinese family bot my loft in soho that i had been living in for 20 years. many properties in soho have been snatched up by chinese nationals past 10 years, and they play landlord and charge $6000-$12000/month rent to the wealthy. they've also expanded central chinatown in manhattan to eat up little italy (what's left is just one street, a tourist trap), up bowery, and areas of the east village all thru to the manhattan bridge. they've also bot up soho. all these areas have gone up 400-1000% in the past 30 years.

The ones who look poor are poor. Then there are the filthy rich ones.

Flushing is on its way to being the American Shanghai:

23 cops from Flushing's 109th Precinct under investigation over bribery racket, report says - QNS.com

Now I've heard everything. A team of two old Chinese women collect 10,000 cans a day to earn $180K a year. Some people are so gullible.

Moved to Flushing when I was 7 in early 90s. Flushing was crap in the early 90s. It was trending to be like Jamaica. My mom would have to zig zag my brother and I across streets to avoid bad elements. People retired and moved away, it's as simple as that - that's what happened to 90 percent of my neighbors or got sick of the overprice utilities and taxes. My friends and I who grew up in Flushing live all over now but reunite on occasion in Flushing and we're astounded at how vibrant it is - we did not have fond memories growing up there as it was crime ridden in the 90s.
