There you go again. New York State is a lot more than NYC. People living in the "Big Apple" tend to forget that.

I think when people outside of the tri-state area think of New Yorkers they think of New York the city. It's just indistinguishable because both are named New York. Just like people outside of US think of Americans as being from the US and not Mexico. But I agree America is much bigger than just the US.

If you carry a NYC accent you are indeed a real NY'er. I hate the guy, but Bernie is a true NY'er. Hillary is a sham, a huckster, a heathen...and, worst of all, a phony wanna be poser transient/transplant from the South. She'll never, ever be considered a real NY'er. Maybe the filthy hipsters in Brooklyn will but no one born n bred will.
