I would also like to add that linking NYC, Boston, Philly and DC with high speed rail would be beneficial for the whole entire region. Folks will be able to work and home which is hundreds of miles away. A college student whole lives in the Upper East Side can go to Harvard everyday and back home instead of living on Campus. Or a Wall Street policy maker can go to work in DC and back home to NYC. High speed rail can help with job creation, folks can live further out, while at the same time help reduce the cost of living in DC, NYC and Boston which are very expensive places to live in.

Could make it more realistic for folks that want to commute from bedroom communities in places like Delaware, South Jersey and deeper into Connecticut too.

The Acela express is a joke. That line has to share the same track with other trains, freight and commuter rail. A new high speed line should be proposed by MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, MD. Line should constant of stops such as Boston terminus, Providence, Hartford, NYC, Trenton, Philadelphia, Baltimore and DC terminus. With dedicated express stops to the 4 major Northeast coast cities. The high speed rail line should have 4 lines of track like what they have in Europe. 2 lines for local and 2 for express.
