Is it possible to find a room nothing over 700 in these places - Woodside, Sunnyside, Astoria, LIC?

I'm really desperate to look for a new place, i currently live in flushing but all the affordable rooms in these places are for women only

It's like the only spot i see is Jersey City and I heard some bad stuff about JC that makes me shady. Please help.

Myself and other people I know were able to find 2 BRs for 1400 and 3 BRs for 1800-2100 all over Western Queens 3-4 years ago.

Now, the only area near me (LIC) that might offer a room for close to 700 is the isolated, industrial area of LIC west of 21st St and close to Queensbridge and Ravenswood.

I would say you'd be very hard pressed to find it in Sunny, Astoria or LIC. But i think it's doable in Woodside.

I just moved out of Woodside where our 2-bedroom was $2k. I was also a block away from the express 7. You may find one, you may not. Good luck.

It might be possible if the primary tenant of a 2 or 3 bedroom has been the leaseholder for several or many years and has a below-market rent because of that. Otherwise, you're looking at market rents that are around $2000 or more for a 2 bedroom, so do that math and you don't come out with a $700 room (unless someone with a $2000 2 bedroom decides to rent the living room as a bedroom as well).

Check Craigslist for people renting out a living room with a sheet divider.

You can also find rooms for $~700 in your areas if you don't mind having several roomies rather than just one.

My roommates are driving me nuts
1. There is this new roommate that I have (female) who has a lot of dirty habits: There were incidents where she didn't flush the toilet. I've left signs in the bathroom instructing to flush the toilet after use. There are times where it has been flushed by a few remaining poop particles are still visible. The last incident was around last week, and her dodo didn't even hit the water.. it was stuck at the side of the toilet and it took about 7 flushes plus bleach to get it out.
She also leaves her dishes/pots in the sink for a number of days.. she also left the stove on through out the night.. Right now, there is a pan full of eggs in the kitchen stove that has sat there for over a week, it's all rotten and covered with a glass lid.

2. My other roommate has her boyfriend over every two weeks. When they have sex, it's loud. There was also an incident where he shaved in the bathroom (definitely not the hairs on his head) and there were pieces of hair around the sink and toilet.

3. The Wifi in my room is very bad. It goes on and off. This has been like this for a month now.

I love my area, Flushing is a very good area. Cheap/Good food, the Corona park, botanical garden, lots of ways to commute to Manhattan... but i'm really losing my mind.

Is that all?

You have to understand with your budget your options are severely limited.
What would you rather have a roomate situation where people are having sex and some messy issues get to you or paying a bit more and then not having money to do anything but literally stay home all the time.
