There's a stretch on Myrtle in Bed Stuy that the Hasids now dominate.
Yeah, that's just 1 block across the street from Marcy Houses. I'm pretty sure there isn't an entire Jewish section of Bed-Stuy, like how Kingston Avenue in Crown Heights is.

North of Myrtle from Nostrand to Classon has a sizable Hasidic population. Other than the residential buildings with fenced in balconies, its mostly industrial space that seems to be mostly Hasidic owned as well.
Clarification: when I say they're the same, I mean they're all whiteboys and girls from the suburbs.
Wrong, many hipsters and yuppies are NYC born, and many of them (hipsters at least) are nonwhite.
I think some people want to demonize all white people they see in their neighborhood as "hipster transplants".

Yes, and now they're bringing it to Minneapolis - our crime rates have gone off the charts. It's gotten too hot in Chicago so they come here and bring their gangster mentality with them. Forget the wall along the Mexico border - we need one around Chicago.

I noticed that many white people get off at 96th st on the Lexington Ave line nowadays, and I see a lot of them walking North. And yeah, I noticed that some people consider a neighborhood "segregated" simply due to lack of white people.
The social segregation you speak of exists to an extent, however I still see a lot of mixed groups.
Frankly I'm floored that Spanish Harlem hasn't been overrun with hipsters and other assorted whites yet. I could probably count on one hand the number of times I dropped off a white person anywhere above 96th on the east side when I drove cab.

You haven't been north of 96th Street on the UES/Spanish Harlem recently have you?
While not yet "over run" there are plenty of hipsters/transplants straight and gay up there. Stand on the corner of East 96th and Second Avenue and watch the foot traffic going north.
Given the number of housing projects/NYC subsidized housing up there, no the area will never totally gentrify, but things are changing.
You can thank the SAS in part for much of this as property values along Second Avenue up to 125th Street are going up. From 96th to 125th there is plenty of good older housing stock, new buildings and more being planned.

Look at all of the development going on in Northern Manhattan. It's not for the working class/poor.
