I know that some years ago it was easy to come across some wiseguy on Mulberry Street sidewalks .. many of them met in bars or restaurants.. Me too, many years ago, I'm pretty sure to had met one in a shop. I remember that the owner treated him as if he were speaking to the pope.
I wonder if the wiseguys still hang out in Little Italy or if the neighborhood was finally abandoned by them...
I don't think mobsters in general (not just Italian mob) are that visible like that anymore. They seem to keep a much lower profile these days. The world has changed you know with everyone having a video camera in their pockets. I remember a few years back you would see some pretty obvious mobbed up dudes in the nightclubs etc.
manhattan Chinatown is shrinking....they should call it little chinatown
I doubt it. Chinese will stay and multiply. Asians are making more $$ than whites by household.
So why would they move if they live good financially?
People move out of NY becuz high COL.
A lot of Italians and Irish join the Police NYPD. Its like the new legal mob.

did you even bother reading what I wrote? Manhattan Chinatown is actually shrinking. Its being gentrified and turning into a tourist destination a la little Italy. The younger generation of Asians or new money Asian from Asia don't generally to move to Manhattan Chinatown.
