Hi,
I am a single, Caucasian female, and I applied for a nycha apartment, Manhattan and Queens, I know I will wait for a long time to be chosen, since these 2 are the preferred boroughs.

Could anybody tell me, please, what are the worst Pjs in each borough?

Also: I know the rent will be 30% of the income. Does this mean that the one who can pay more gets the better and safer apartment, does this also apply to nycha? Thanks for your time and effort in replying....

BK, Queens. or even Hoboken/Jersey City, NJ is like 10 minutes away from Manhattan
BX is the worst borough.
this is not the 90s anymore. NYC is relatively safe everywhere.
In worst areas=more police

I would invest time and education getting a better job. and not resort to NYCHA

Out of curiosity, is there a longer waiting list to get into the developments in Lower Manhattan (Baruch, Jacob Riis, Lillian Wald, etc.)?
