guys - actually two questions here

1) Do you folks thinks that a car parked in the driveway at all times during the day too without deter a potential thief? My neighborhood gets very quiet, especially on alternate side parking days. I have two cars and don't really need the 2nd one but will keep it as its insurance is very low. Also thinking of an alarm system in the future

2) Secondly, can one sell a car after its registration has expired? I know I'll get ticketed if caught but will only keep it in the driveway unless someone comes to take a test drive. Any penalties for registering after expiry date?

Thanks

Are you asking if a car in the driveway will deter a car thief or are you asking about someone robbing your home? I think a car parked in the driveway is more safe from theft than on the street. As far as your home, I doubt it.

Of course a car can be sold after the registration has expired. Give the title to the buyer and they will register the car.

Proper lighting around the outside of your property is more important for deterring crime than an empty car

agree on the comments. My question mostly was around if a car parked in a driveway would deter a home break-in during the day when our street gets deserted and most people are at work
