Hi guys,
I got a parking ticket this morning in the upper east side (my car was there past the no-standing zone time, I just totally forgot about it and was an hour late to move my car). My plate is NJ but it says FL on the ticket. Can I fight this?
If I go to the trial in person, should I just say the license plate state is wrong, and therefore the ticket is invalid? Do I need to bring any evidence (I am not sure what I can bring). Do they ask me like "did you actually parking your car there?"
Any previous experience will be greatly appreciated.

You're right. Technically, the car with number abc123 Florida doesn't exist (or if it does and you ignore the ticket, some poor guy in FL is in for a headache). But the fact remains that you were illegally parked. And if you go to traffic court, well, it's still court and you have to tell the truth, which is why your inclusion of the sentence I bolded baffles me. Again: It ... is .. court ... and ... you ... have ... to ... tell ... the ...truth.
Just pay the ticket and next time you park, set an alarm on your phone to remind you when time's up.
I think you will get off not guilty. Lawyers always look for these type of technicalities to get a not guilty verdict. Consider yourself lucky and be a lesson learned because chances are next time you won't be as lucky.

Congratulations! You just won the NYC parking ticket lotto!
Tickets written with inaccurate and or missing information can be dismissed on that technicality. Just clearly note the error when making your appeal in person or whatever.

Just want to leave an update that my case was resolved. I went to the trial in person and the judge dismissed the ticket
