Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me where to buy an E Z PASS transponder? I live in Brooklyn and for some reason I can't find it anywhere. I lived in Syracuse for a short while and they were readily available every where. I've been driving around to different places and no one sells it?

I signed up for an account on EZ PASS website and I thought they would send me a transponder but I still haven't received one after 2 weeks. Do they send you one automatically after you register online?

I often forget to carry cash to pay for the tolls and i'm not too familiar with the area yet so sometimes I get to a bridge/tunnel and have no cash to pay...causes major headaches.

If anyone could recommend a place to pick up a transponder, that would be great! Thanks!!

EZ Pass should be mailing you everything you need. If you look online, there might be a service center near you where you can pick one up. Or else call to see if one has been mailed out to you and maybe lost or stolen.

Transit Museum at Grand Central Terminal. IIRC there is another place in Brooklyn, but name escapes me.

Staten Island also has a location, then there are places in New Jersey.

Last time one looked the list given on MTA EZpass website was horribly out of date. MTA pulled sales of devices from many retail locations leaving only a handful remaining, and most of them are somehow connected to that agency (Transit Museum, EZPass office on Staten Island, etc...).

Thanks. I'll call in to check some time this week.

If you applied online either contact EZPass via email, telephone or go to one of the locations and ask if your transponder/materials were sent. Do this before buying or submitting another application in person.

You want to find out if a new account has already been established before opening yet another. If it has make sure it isn't showing any activity since you don't have the transponder yet.

Thanks for the info. When I was in Syracuse, i got mine pretty quick too. Just curious as to why it's taking much longer down here...

The one physical storefront I know about in in Yonkers, on McLean Avenue. From Brooklyn, I don't know if this is of any use.

You can get one at any cash toll booth, or you can go to the MTA office in College Point
