Hi - I'm looking for a summer lakehouse in a gated community on a motorboat-friendly lake. I live in Manhattan so would like something within reasonable driving distance for a weekend getaway (like 2.5 hours or less). I've looked into The Hideout in PA which is very nice (and as a plus it has a golf course, something else I'd definitely like). Any other recommendations?

We were in tanglwood north in pa. Not far from the hideout. Lake wallenpaupack is the main lake in the area with 52 miles of shoreline

There's tons of lakes fitting your bill in Sullivan County. Gated communities might be rare but that's unnecessary up there.
