With Hillary as the favored and Kaine the frontrunner to succeed in 24, will Cuomo be kissing his White House dreams goodbye?

Are Cuomo's presidential ambitious toasted?

Oh, I'd say 'half baked'

Cuomo has done a nothing admirable for NYS in my opinion. In matter of fact, Cuomo would have hunted Hillary' campaign and even make it look more like a freakshow instead of a circus. Cuomo dreams of President will never happen.

It depends who announces to run against Trump in '20. Cuomo might play well to the party insiders, but he won't play well to the looney left (ie the Sanderites.)

1. It's presidential ambitions -- and not presidential ambitious.

2. You're assuming Hillary will win, twice in a row, followed by Kaine victories, twice in a row. So you're assuming the outcome of the next four presidential elections. Quite an assumption.

When was the last time the same party held the White House for 16 or more years straight? You'd have to go back to FDR/Truman, when the Dems held the White House for 20 years.

So it's highly unlikely that Clinton/Kaine will hold the White House for 16 years. I don't even think that Clinton is assured of winning this year. Trump might well beat her.

The Mouth of Albany plans to run again for a third term in 2018, that is unless the Clinton woman offers him something in her cabinet next year. You'd think AC would learn from his father whose third term was pretty much a disaster, but land sakes he's got nothing else better to do politically.

Early in his first term as governor and especially after pushing through gay marriage AC was widely seen as a serious candidate for POTUS in 2016. That quickly has gone to ABC (Anyone But Cuomo) with the Democrats practically shutting him out before the guy even thought about putting together an early campaign.

With both Orange Hair and the Carpet Bagger from New York State it does seem as if the curse keeping politicians from here ever winning national office has been broken. It is telling neither are well liked so it just may be a "hold your nose" election year.

Either way Cuomo wouldn't dare challenge the Clinton woman if she decides to run for a second term in 2021. That is unless things are going so badly and or a major event forces the woman to share Jimmy Carter's fate. By 2024 AC will have been out of office as governor of NYS (cannot see him running much less winning a fourth term), and probably a political has-been.

Long story short, yes, the man's POTUS ambitions are "toast" as you say. This should have been his year but all those scandals out of Albany hurt his chances.

Was it mainly because of regional affiliations (ie bith he and hillary from NY) or was it something he did? Kaine was out of office as gov this year, but if cuomo is unelectable then he can't make it even if he gets another office.

New York state and city have long been viewed as corrupt and morally questionable by much of the United States. Cuomo first ran on a campaign to "clean up Albany" and thus far that largely has gone no where. Final and telling straw was when the governor disbanded a commission *HE* called for to investigate corruption in NYS government. That prompted among other things Mr. Preet Bharara to start doing a bit of investigating on his own. While Cuomo was only just cleared, former heads of the Assembly and Senate shared a different fate. Worse Albany still pretty much functions as "three men in a room" which reinforces the ideas people have about New York politics.

All this not even touching AC's tenure as head of HUD leaving a record some have major issues with and would be quick to throw up in his face.

If Hillary is creamed in this election, which is seeming more and more likely since her right leaning Republicrat choice for VP, Cuomo or Booker, may become the heir apparent if they live long enough.

But for the next 8 years I will be practicing my heel-clicking. (Where can you buy a decent monocle in this City?)
