108-36 Flatlands 9th St. #23D in Canarsie, Brooklyn | StreetEasy

It has a balcony, a water view, and the complex has a pool.

SO why is it only 219K?
What is the neighborhood like?

As I suspected.

So what is wrong with the area and what is it like?

Public transportation sucks and all you would need is a decent wind to bring the stench from the previous dump to that private balcony. And it's a short sale.

Flatlands is a very desolate area. It was notorious for illegal car drag racing back in the 80's - 90's.

not a nice area and no trains nearby. there are many cheap condos in the outskirts of BK, BX & Queens once you get far from trains.

Kew Garden Hills has some really cheap co-ops but there is no train nearby.

there is a huge complex of condos in East NY meadow wood with huge cheap condos with terraces, but again no trains.

Just move to the Bronx. Cheap by the Pelham Parkway stop on the 2/5. Or actually, don't. I want it to be cheap if I finally pull the trigger and move there haha.
