Yes obviously I am not going to go jog in a dark alley or after hours in the woods, this would go for a male or female.
In this particular instance she went jogging at 5:30 pm in broad daylight in an area that she and probably many joggers run all the time for years. Then one murder happens for the first time ever and then people claim she should have known better
If the girl was specifically killed because of her fathers "business" dealings like many claim in this thread, why should anyone else be worried about jogging along the path if they aren't involved?

So now tonight were going to Bed Bath & Beyond, driving along the Belt Parkway, getting closer. There is a paved bicycle / jogging trail all along the parkway, and the other side is what? yup, marshland, thick dense reed. Water on the other side...
So there we go, and what do we see leaning up on one of those concrete things along side the thick reed? a young girl / woman, wearing a jogging outfit on and ear buds, stopped, staring into her electronic device as we all sped by.
Did Karinas death NOT register with any young girl or woman, hello?
I wanted to get out of the car (fatherly instint) grab her and say, is there something wrong with you, what would posses you to choose to jog alone along the parkway alongside desolate marshland?????
Does the word stupidity come to mind, yet even after the "central park" jogger, back in my day, apparently girls / women havent gotten it yet???????????????????????????????????????

This is hardly "the dark side of the internet" unless you've never speculated about a crime based on the circumstances of the crime. I guess you must presume O.J. was innocent because he was found not guilty, right? To speculate otherwise would be in your words, "spewing pure filth".
I also saw a single female jogger on that path while driving on Belt this past Sunday! I do hope it's a decoy.
