Party in the club on his debut album definitely had southern influence. Before 50 no NY rapper attempted to do the South's style.

I'm not going to get into a discussion on what hip hop is, but Trap music definitely is not hip hop. It's a variant of pop rap.

It may have grafted some stylistic elements of hip hop culture, but it does not follow the basic formula for a hip hop track.

Bobby was/is a Drill Rapper.

Nothing to do with Hip Hop whatsoever.

These are hip hop tracks from newer NYC artists.

Notice anything different from Bobby Schmurda?

Trap is definitely hip hop, hip hop is the broader genre and trap is a subgenre (kind of like how metal is a subgenre of rock).

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not hip hop.

I don't listen to Shmurda but I think the song Hot N*gga is very hip hop. Talking about selling crack, killing, intimidation..... Drill music has some of same contents as gangsta rap.

Actually it's not.

Hip Hop music contains 5 elements, none of which are used in Trap Music.

When hip hop was created, did they lay out strict rules for what is considered hip hop? I think not.
