My husband's company is located in Manhattan. They are asking him to relocate. He has mentioned looking into Queens and Brooklyn as they are less expensive options. We have a baby on the way but really enjoy cafes, restaurants, and nightlife. Can someone recommend a nice safe reasonable area with little commute? I greatly appreciate any help Thank you!

Umm, what's your budget, how many bedrooms do you need, where are you commuting to?

People, please FOR THE LOVE OF GOD be more specific with your first post. The first replies to these questions are ALWAYS the same:

"What is you budget? Where are you commuting to?" etc. etc. etc.

We can help you when you give us info but not until then. This is like saying "I want to buy a shirt that is reasonably priced and nice. What shirt should I buy?". Tell us more and we WILL help you.

A nice safe area is Park Slope, Brooklyn. A house is $3MM+ and is perfectly reasonable for a couple making $800k.

Another nice safe area is Kew Gardens, Queens. A one bedroom apartment can be had for $1100/month and is perfectly reasonable for a couple making $60k.

Not to be harsh but we see these posts multiple times a day and are always happy to help when you give us the info we need to help you.

I'm a big fan of Queens. It has always rubbed me the right way..and seems more family oriented in a lot of parts.

Now I'm confused. Your husband's company is in Manhattan. They're asking him to relocate, and so you're wondering about Brooklyn or Queens? You made it sound like the company was moving to the west coast! It occurred to me that you might stay where you are, and use, oh, let's go out on a limb and say, the subway, to get to work.

Considering this was an old thread from five months ago dredged up by the spammer who needs to sell his Forest Hills apartment, I would guess the OP has found a place to live by now.
