You mean departures, right? That might work if the arrivals section isn't a long walk from the departures maybe.

It's next to impossible but it would neat if they linked the JFK and LGA Airtrains somehow.

which is a really dumb idea. After landing who wants to spend another odyssey going the wrong way to flushing and then changing trains to head towards Manhattan. You can't even get to Jamaica from the Port Washington line so it's not like you're even creating a JFK connector either.

There needs to be a hard rail line from LGA over the Grand Central Parkway to branch into the lines that feed Penn Station or into Grand Central Terminal (onice Eastside Access is complete)

The residents of Astoria would put a stop to that in a NY minute. They're the reason why the N train didn't get extended to LGA.

Astoria has changed in the recent decade. Majority of the old guard has either died out, or packed up and headed to the south. Astoria is now a transient neighborhood. If the New train extension was go for another vote this time around. The results will be alot different. I'm sure NyWriterdude would agree with me.

I can assure you that the old guard is still very much there. The transients are the renters, the old guard are the owners and they still mostly all live there. Jimmy Van Bramer is a militant city council member who fights tooth and nail for anything the "old guard" wants in Western Queens. The political lobby there is very strong and that hasn't changed at all

The advantage of LGA is it's proximity to Manhattan. If that isn't an issue, there are likely better airports. If you're in Westchester, I can easily see how Westchester County would be better for you.

I have a much smoother experience going to Westchester County (HPN) Airport personally.

I don't know if that's an explicit part of the plan. Really, they need to run a spur off the N-line to LGA.

which they could do by engineering a span over the parkway that would not impact the residents in any meaningful way

but I'll keep saying the better way is to run a heavy rail line and feed it through the East River tunnels to Penn Station or Grand Central. It can cut into the existing Amtrak / Freight R.O.W. to get there

Exactly. Path of least resistance.

Path of most resistance?
