Carry-On (New York, York: apartments, moving to, budget)

Well I'm going to be offically moving to New York from San Francisco in a week! I just wanted to know: do any of you know the number of carry-on suitcases I can take with me?

I'll assume you'll be arriving by plane, so, you have to contact the airline you'll be using. I'm pretty sure that there isn't a universal airline rule in regards to carry-ons.

You can usually take 1 small piece of rolly luggage, and a bag.

The last few flights I've been on, people brought on too much stuff and they made you check 1 piece when you were boarding anyway. I just check everything and bring my big purse on with me now, it's much less hassle

It's usually one carry-on suitcase and one purse/handbag.

Kristin, what did you end up finding in the way of apartments? I know there was some concern over the budget of $1750 that you initially posted a couple weeks ago.
