Every time I order a package, 90% of the time the USPS doesn't even try to deliver it and makes me wait at the post office in West Harlem. FedEx and UPS are a little better but still unreliable.

Is there any service I can pay for that I can get things sent to and they'd deliver it to me, or even a decent sized box that I can tell people to ship to so I can pick it up near me. I'd literally pay to not have to deal with this awful post office anymore.

I think you can ship things to a UPS store and pick it up there.

My question would be, why haven't you written a strong complaint to the post office? The reason it's so awful is that people like you don't complain.

Amazon Locker - you can use it for other deliveries other than Amazon. Also some local businesses offer such a service for local residents. Try the local drycleaner or bodega.

I share your frustration. If I am aware that a company uses USPS for shipping, I won't buy from them. UPS and Fedex are much better -- and usually leave the package outside my apartment door on the 5th floor -- pretty secure building with no package thieves.

I recently got a storage unit from a major NYC storage company and they do have a package delivery service. They sign for the package and put in a secure room for up to 2 days until you're ready to get it (not sure what happens after the 2 days). This would only make financial sense to do this if you already need storage. Otherwise it's too expensive.

I just came across this business for $19 per month that pretty much describes what you need. If you're only talking about 1 or 2 packages a month, they also have a per package rate. https://www.doorman.co/personal/

Sadly doorman.co doesn't consider Harlem part of NYC. Only services a few zip codes (ones that most likely would have actual doormen).

Yeah it looks like I'm going to look at other companies to buy from if amazon doesn't allow you to choose (they don't).
