Despite all the relief after the bombings (that no one was killed) and the praise (that Rahami was nabbed so quickly), I hope people won't overlook the fact that, once again, all the security that's supposed to keep us safe failed.

Despite all the millions spent by NYC on cameras, cops, training, etc. and the presumed billions spent by the federal government, including for spying on our email and telephone calls (fresh in my mind with the "Snowden" movie) - all of that failed to prevent the bombing, and the only reason the cops zeroed him on him was apparently because of a tip from a civilian.

Despite so much tech and resources they just can't watch all threats at the same time. Terrorists and other major criminals know this, and have ways to cover their tracks or create false leads. Amazing how swiftly they got him.

This dummy bought pre paid phones with his own name and had a criminal record which helped law enforcement immensely. Law enforcement agencies have prevented quite a few plots here with thier diligence and technology.

You're forcing people to prove a negative, which is logically impossible. We'll never know what didn't happen because a cop was at the right place at the right time or someone saw a CCTV camera where they were thinking of putting a bomb. We all want to criticize when something goes wrong but never stop to think of the alternatives.

Media is reporting that the father reported the son as a potential terrorist to the FBI in 2014. How's that for security.

Despite the complete trashing of the Constitution and the violation of the rights of millions of citizens, it is all for naught. The dimwits who are very well paid to protect us, f**k up every time.

FBI raids his home, looking for bomb-making equipment. It's been two weeks now. Either they failed to do a thorough search, or they suspect someone else is building bombs.

The two men who removed a pressure cooker from a suitcase in Chelsea and perhaps accidentally deactivated it last month were apparently in-flight security officers for EgyptAir.

The Times reports that the men, Hassan Ali and Abou Bakr Radwan, were in New York on the evening of September 17th after flying in on the airline. They were caught on security taking the pressure cooker, which had allegedly been placed there by New Jersey resident Ahmad Khan Rahami, out of the suitcase before taking the bag with them. Though Rahami had allegedly left several bombs in Manhattan and in New Jersey, all of which detonated, authorities think Ali and Radwan actually deactivated the bomb they found.

Just be glad that more attacks have not happened here because we have not open the flood gates to refugees and illegals from the middle east. Look at attacks in Germany and France, if we had a week of violence and over 100 deaths we will probably get ready for a Trump presidency.
