Looks quite possible Matthew may not make landfall.

It's skimming the cost, with it's eye just offshore. This means a less intense hit in any one spot, but it will hit much more area than if it just blasted straight across FL.

And, they're predicting it will curve back out to sea, do a big loop, and then go straight across FL. The question is, how strong will it be then. It may drop down to tropical storm level by then.

I've never seen that happen before! That is the hurricane to make a big loop and hit Florida again..Methinks it might have something to do with climate change.

I tripped yesterday while moving furniture. Definitely climate change.

One past hurricane did a similar loop-de-loop several years ago but I do not remember her name.

Hurricane Ivan (2004), Hurricane Ginger (1971), Hurricane Ginny (1963), and Hurricane Edna (1953) all traversed a loop of some description, whlie Hurricane Easy (1950) executed a turn and hit Florida twice.

I read this one looks like it will be heading further up the coast to NYC as a Category 1 because tropical storm Nicole developed and created this high pressure ridge that pushes Matthew NorthEast. They're not sure if it will make a loop.

How's the weather looking up there? Any Nor'Easters or low pressure ridges from Canada?

And you base this on what? There's a randomness to weather. The state of the atmosphere as this point is just pushing this storm around in a loop. I've heard nothing to indicate that this has anything to do with global warming.

I feel sorry for their loved ones. It must be tough to be a spouse, family member or friend of one of these storm reporters. Often I hear anchormen/women exclaim to them to get indoors. Jeesh. It's tough to watch at times but have to say at the very least these folks are dedicated.
