Petition to have the Chinese build it, they can get it done in a year. Why should the MTA extend their service when they can't even fix their current system. Capitalism fails when you want something done for the public good. You think MTA is running a public service?

They should put a subway connecting the EMR lines to the JZ/AC trains in southern Queens

The E and the J/Z already connect at Sutphin. Also can use the Woodhaven SBS to connect between the M and R to the J/Z and A.

Yeah that's what I meant, cause getting to the Rockaways or Howard Beach from there is a pain in the butt. We need a connection farther west, along the Woodhaven Boulevard

The LIRR used to split off at Rego Park and go directly to The Rockaways. The Rockaway Beach LIRR has not been used in over 60 years and the tracks are rusted. In the 50s they connected the A train to the Southern part of the Rockaway Beach LIRR. The A train in Ozone Park, Rockaways, and Howard Beach is running on LIRR trackage.

There are always proposals to reactivate this line and resend the LIRR to the Rockaways or connect it to the Queens Blvd local and send either the M or the R out there. Or to connect the Airtrain to the A at Howard Beach and then reopen the LIRR, sending LIRRs from Penn Statuon directly to the airport and the beaches.

Cuomo has made the MTA do a new study on this, obviously the MTA has other priorities that urgently need addressing.

Seems like they are going the SBS route instead of rail.

I think the NIMBYism is strong on that side of town. Everything along that ROW is some of the last vestiges of Archie Bunker territory.
