There's a contingent of CD posters here that thinks they are helping to keep housing costs from rising/stop gentrification by discouraging people from moving to/badmouthing NYC.
If you read enough of their posts, you'll know who they are.
Prices have already started to fall in terms of rents. This has been reported by various media including the Wall Street Journal.
Why not? Hundreds if not thousands of Latino/Hispanics, Asians, and yes even Europeans do it all the time. Did you miss the mayor and city council speaker standing up on news media proclaiming for god and the world to hear NYC is a "sanctuary" city?
Those that came illegally do not have such great lives, many of them living on min. wages.

I also would never quit my job here without having an equall job offer somewhere else. Actually I am working for Siemens and we are running the NYC Metro System, so I see an opportunity to shift from here to NYC without leaving my company.

If Siemens has an office in the Greater NYC Area and the OP can transfer to the USA with Siemens sponsorship, then coming to NYC could be a good option/idea.
