Instead of choosing to live near a subway stop, people are moving far away from them in search of better housing deals.

Uber and lyft are very expensive during "Prime time", meaning whenever there is a high demand they can surge the prices. One time i attempted to use it and it was a 50% increase from normal pricing.

When oil prices go up and uber/lyft become more expensive will there be articles saying property sales have gone down?

Literally they make an article over anything, people just go for cheaper rent given how expensive certain areas have become.

In the outer boroughs you used to have gypsy cabs and now you have green taxis near subway stations. Now Uber is becoming a major part of the transportation equation. Some people Uber and Lyft to work daily.

Yes but its not raising property values directly, thats a huge stretch just for bait clicks.

Its more likely "far flung" areas in the city (the article referenced most areas of manhattan) are not far flung by any means are just suffering the same fate of rising prices due to an uptick in economy, foreign investors and gentrification.

These people never heard of taxis and regular old car services and gypsy cabs that are cheaper than uber and lyft?
This has to be one of the most absurd theories yet. How dumb can people be to believe crap like this?
We are doomed. Stupidity is permeating everyone's thinking and people no longer seem to have the ability to analyze.

Uber is more convenient for them and many were already regular Uber users. Most travelers under age 50 or so regularly use ride sharing apps.

And it's not just price, it's convenience. Uber and Lyft pick you up wherever you are. Taxi cabs go up and down the main streets.

If you're willing to share your Uber or Lyft with another person prices go down.
