The light pollution is getting out of control. The night sky doesn't even look black anymore. It's always purple or grey with the lights reflected back.
Much rather see the stars.
Yeah, I agree. But I mean, it *is" New York City. To see the stars I go north or south
Maybe Diblasio's end game is to force everyone on bikes.
I rather just walk then ride a bike in Manhattan. With all the cabs, road work, garbage, pedestrians etc. riding a bike in Manhattan must be a truly awful experience.
Public transit is a nightmare because they keep it cheaper than it should be for political reasons. Raise the fare to what it takes to run, maintain, and if necessary, expand the system, and one way or another, the problem will solve itself.

Dont worry i bet out govt got some solutions - turn more car lanes into bike lanes, make it cost $50 to enter manhattan by car, and only allow certain plate numbers depending on day of the week. Make it cost $10,000 to register a car every year. That will defacto ban a lot of cars from Manhattan and make it prohibitive for NYC residents, except the rich, to own cars.

Wouldn't that make traffic on the roads a lot worse?
Probably not. If someone couldn't afford a $5 transit fare (randomly picking a number), they likely couldn't afford a to keep a car here either. It would have the effect of forcing a lot of people who really can't afford to live in NYC to face reality and leave. This would not be a bad thing for either the city or them (which they probably would realize till the left.)
