Yes, but most American Jews are NOT against Israel controlling the Old City, which is in East Jerusalem. (This was part of the recent UN resolution, for Israel to leave the Old City/East Jerusalem. Not gonna happen.)

Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza in 2005.

There have not been any Jews/Israelis or Israeli soldiers there since then.

It wasn't an "illegal land grab". Israel took control over the West Bank and Gaza in 1967 after 3 Arab countries declared WAR on Israel. Israel won the war and pushed the Jordanians out of the West Bank, and Egypt out of Gaza.
Had these Arab countries not declared war on Israel, Israel would not have taken over these lands.
Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza several years ago, and...we all know how that turned out.
The Palestinians are in control of Gaza, there are no Israeli troops there, and instead of establishing a normal independent state there, the Palestinians turned it into a Hamas controlled rocket-factory for launching attacks against Israel.
So forgive us for not expecting much better if Israel were to withdraw from the West Bank.
I'm ignorant? You're acting like a stupid a$$hole with your name calling. Let's not pretend that Israel has been continually expropriating Palestinian land. Isn't it strange that the US has been Israel's only major backer at the UN and in these other international bodies? The Israeli occupation, subjugation and humiliation of the Palestinians has been the major driving force of terrorism in the world. World opinion is strongly against the Israeli government, and I hoping for the world's sake that this government don't pull us into another World War.

Again, "ignorant" is not an insult. You are simply uninformed. Everyone can't be informed about every single subject in the world.

Israel has not been expropriating "Palestinian land."

There was never an independent "Palestinian state" and there was never "Palestinian land."

The Arabs declined an Arab state on the lands including the West Bank and Gaza in 1948, which is why they don't have a state now.

The West Bank was part of Jordan from 1948 (when Jordan declared war on Israel, along with Egypt and Syria), until 1967, when these Arab countries again became aggressive to Israel, instigated a war, and then lost the war.
As a result of Israel winning that war in 1967, the West Bank and East Jerusalem were taken from JORDAN (NOT "the Palestinians" - remember, it was Jordan before 1967).

You know, you insist you are NOT ignorant, yet you don't express any understanding of the history of this conflict...

The "Israeli occupation" is certainly NOT the major driving force of "terrorism in the world." ISIS for example, has nothing to do with "the Israeli occupation."

As for "world opinion" being strongly against the Israeli government? We Jews mostly take that with a grain of salt.
World opinion was also against Jews in the 1930's and 1940's; that's why the "world" stood by and allowed the Germans to exterminate the vast majority of European Jewry.

So forgive us if we are more concerned with our own survival than with "the world's" opinion of us.

Perhaps you should be more humble and you might have more support (you not Israel) and World Opinion does matter - evidence the reaction from Bibi to the UN vote. The US is not about to abandon unilateral support of Israel but the month before the new President-elect takes over provide an opportunity to reflect on the last 4 years of necessarily combative relations between two loyal allies (and don't think the vote isn't a payback in part for that absolutely ill-advised trip to Washington).

1- Ottoman empire had the area since 16th century.
2- an Arab uprising and the british expelled the turks out during WWI
3- British and French occupied the territory
4- in 1948 there was a civil war: Arabs and Jews uprising against the british. The jewish people gained most of the land while the arabs kept some parts.

Since then it's been all the same. Arabs and jews fighting for the piece of land, with jews having control of the area.

Settlements? please. It's just the ongoing battle for the land...

Americans with dual citizenship. And what is one of America's duties to its citizens? To protect Americans in foreign lands.

She is Jewish. Jewish opinion supposed to be more important than world opinion. Let's ask antichus, Titus, vespigan, queen Isabella and Joseph Stalin, if Jewish opinion matters. A generation ago America had its first black president. Not Barack Obama, but bill clinton. Next month America will welcome it's first Jewish president, his name is Donald Trump. Surprisingly David Duke and other white supremacist voted for Donald Trump. Technically far right and far left are supposed to be against anything Israel. Therefore David Duke neo nazis are all supporters of Israeli state.
