Does anyone if know an open and current landlord/tenant case will show up on the credit report? Or will it only show up after a decision has been made?

I did and I didn't see anything. I know sometimes LL use a more in-depth credit report so was just wondering.

It may not show up on your credit, but it will show up on any background check as a current court action.

Agree. Won't show up on your credit report but it's very possible it'll show up in a background check/investigation.

I think like the credit score, this was one of the issues that came up in the revised guidelines issued in October. It can't be the only thing that knocks you out, as long as you're paying your rent. People often have good reasons for bringing suits against their landlords, which the mayor pointed out when he announced the revised guidelines. People really need to read the latest guidelines, which are available in a PDF. Google it. Make sure you're reading the October 2016 edition. This court issue is addressed, as is the credit score and everything else people ask here ad nauseam.

Thanks, that part I got. My LL brought the case against me for non-payment. We've had a contentious relationship and he's stopped making repairs in my apartment. In our current case we received a stipulation and although i held up my end he has yet to fulfill his. Just thinking how much this will affect the decision.

Did the LL drag you into court for nonpayment? Now I haven't been involved in anything like this for a long time, but there used to be a procedure. If you stopped paying rent because the LL wasn't making repairs, you were supposed to continue paying the rent to an escrow account. Someone else on the forum might have a better take on this. Don't bring up the court case until the developer does. It might be slow to show. My policy is never give unrequested information.

Thanks much. I haven't said anything and don't plan to but it's nerve racking.
