As of February 12, 2017, the NYS Senate wanted to ban the unpopular NYC Bag Tax but had to compromise with the NYS Assembly to merely postpone it to work out the kinks or repeal it or repeat it and sent the compromise, S4158 A4883, to Gov. Cuomo to sign on.

If you believe in compromise, telephone Gov. Cuomo immediately during regular business hours 9 to 5 to sign it. Phone number is 1 518 474 8390.

Two days before it's scheduled to go into effect and it is still undecided. The governor should spend less time hooking up tows to cars and make a decision.

They should have a referendum on this issue, similar to how they do it in Cali.

referendum? lol

no thanks, we don't need to copy everything the crazies do in the dysfunction that is California. It's a 5 cent tax for god's sake, a rounding error. Who cares - add the tax, don't add the tax, nobody cares

Cuomo ended up blocking this because he wants to collect all the nickels for himself. Let the idiots argue all day long about this stupidity they obviously have nothing better to do

You might have missed the point. It is NOT the bag tax but how the bag tax was imposed in a DEMOCRACY!

This was discussed in detail above.
