I went to check out an apartment in Parkchester and there was a sign in the stairwells from management, stating that "urinating in the stairwells and elevators" will not be tolerated. These flyers were all over the complex and in multiple buildings. Whole place stunk like ****. Why do people do this when there is a bathroom in every apartment? Who are these people? I googled it and guess it is a "common" problem in any large housing building, especially "the projects". Do these people have any respect for themselves?!!! USE THE TOILET.

I went to a party in an condo in Manhattan. I saw cigarette buds and cigar fillings in am staircase. Another time ****. I guess some tenant failed to clean up after their dog. This type of stuff mainly exist in housing projects. However don't be surprised to see such stuff outside the realm of housing projects. Nyc is a very filthy city regardless.

It's disgusting. People hanging out In the stairs may not live there and Instead of at least peeing on a bush outside are too lazy, or drunk\high and just go in the hall. This is not restricted to projects either. I lived in a nice apartment complex years ago and once found human dookie on the floor in the trash chute room. Some people are just dirty, or nuts. I knew some seemingly "normal" neighbors who were really out there living in buildings. Where I am now the building is clean except frequent nasty smell in the elevator. Will smell of a combination of cheap fragrance, armpits, cigarettes and fart. Dirty people. Hope to live in a house\townhouse\ log cabin one day so it's not a concern anymore.

For a lot of projects the pee and poop sometimes comes from homeless people shockingly. I didn't believe while growing up as a child in the pjs until I was a teenager and witnessed it many times lol.

For non pjs and luxury buildings cigarettes/condoms/ are some of the things I've found in staircases. Different problems from different buildings the problem is humans suck.

I think it may be a combination of things like poor security and low class tenants. If you are seeing signs about peeing, then there may be other problems as well.

People who don't own things do not treat property respectfully. They don't care. One of the many reasons I hate living around renters.
