I was looking at bikes today on Dyckman St in Inwood and I was crossing a little park on the triangle between Riverside Dr and Dyckman St. The park was in immaculate condition called Loftus or Dreyfus park and the sign said prohibited were adults except accompanied by a child. I thought it would be the reverse--no kids without adult accompaniment. Never saw such a prohibition before
Is this to ward off would- be bad guys preying on kids?
Incidentally, today i was testing out a bike and rode it on the sidewalks to test it. Normally though bikes are not normally allowed on sidewalks, only on the streets?
Persons older than 14 are prohibited from riding bicycles on NYC sidewalks. Thank goodness. Unfortunately, the food delivery people don't heed that prohibition.
