Before Obama left office he promised to take 100,000 refugees that were stopped by Trump recently.

Now forget the policy, realistically speaking. Can NYC take 1,000-5,000 refugees?

I can't think of where to place refugees in NYC where there's already a shortage of affordable housing with working tax payers waiting to get them. Does this mean DeBlasio is gonna put them through Hotels?

Syrian refugees are also getting priced out of NYC | New York Post

Based on this report, DeBlasio is having a tough time getting refugees resettled here because of high rent.

As much as NYers want refugees to come here, little could be done to get them to live here.

If you agree they can stay, I invite anyone who supports refugees to take them to their house and offer assistance. Don't just talk the talk. Feds give $1125/month per family for assistance. They also get food stamps and Medicaid.

Sure we can. Turn some of these hotels into more shelters.

Canada wants them. Let's send them there. (Canada's illegal immigrant population 75K; USA's illegal immigrant population 11-13 million) I bet you Canada's citizen would start feeling uneasy if they had our #s in immigrant population. You see once it starts affecting you directly that is when it becomes an issue. (canada will be eating its own words once they have 11-13 million in illegal aliens)

They'd probably be placed in Jamaica and ENY. Upstate would likely receive more of them. Cities such as Binghamton, Rochester, Buffalo and Troy.

They probably should be located to areas such as the Upper West Side, Greenwich Villlage (or pretty much all of Manhattan), Park Slope, Williamsburg, LIC and Dumbo. They are the ones that want them in this country most. And these are the areas the refugees would find the most opportunity in with financial support.

Sure, who will do it? The Hiltons? Trumps? Marriots?

Name one City owned or funded hotel. City already has a backlog of US citizens that are homeless that are waiting to be resettled. Have we forget our own?

Since when it is crazy to have a defined immigration policy? The US government can choose to set an immigration agenda.

I really don't understand all of the hoopla regarding this. If the US wanted to ban immigrants from Canada, that's the government right. Since we can't have unfettered immigration, necessarily some groups will be allowed more privilege than others.
