Yeah there's no way in hell that autocorrect suggest "Idleswind" as a proper spelling. You'd actually have to override autocorrect to even get that to appear. This is assuming he's typing on a phone in the first place.
People are pointing out the irony in this guy complaining about the name of the airport when he can't even spell the name he wishes it was changed to.
My point goes to other times people make a fuss over spelling. Read my post again. And the angry, insult-filled overreaction is totally inappropriate.
Also, even if the OP did not know the correct spelling, the topic he brought up (i.e. what did JFK do for the city/airport?) is perfectly worth debating. Dismissing it simply on the grounds that he got the name wrong is a weak argument.
At no time was the airport ever named Idlewild (or Idleswind for that matter). The official name was the New York International Airport, although it was often referred to as Idlewild since that was the name of the golf course it was built over.

Most of it is in Newark. Only Terminal A is in Elizabeth.
And the new Terminal A will be bigger and take up more space on the Elizabeth side!
What has he done to New York City and airport industry? Nothing! Change the name back to Idleswind
Has it escaped your notice that all kinds of things - schools, bridges, roads/plazas - are often named after people, especially ex-presidents? What, after all, did George Washington do for the state of Washington? Nothing! What do you suggest they change the state name to?
^ Funny you should bring that up. Just this morning I was reading a thread here in the political forum about Yale changing one of their building's name because the person was once a slave owner and a poster had brought up the topic of Washington. (read here: //www.city-data.com/forum/polit...name-hall.html)
If we are going to be swept up by the current political correctness wave washing over society, then all things named after George Washington, including the state, city, bridges, schools, etc. need to be changed because he was a slave owner, too.
How about Martin Luther King Jr, DC? Or Tubman, DC? Or Federick Douglas, DC? Or Malcolm X, DC?

They originally wanted to name their state Columbia, after their longest river, but Congress feared people would confuse it with the District of Columbia. Which we call...Washington.

Now its time to find out what the "Columbia" in District of Columbia means...
Newark-Liberty is perfect especially since Libby is a nickname for Elizabeth.
