Hi New Yorkers,

Someone help me really quick! I got an affordable housing interview scheduled next week, but I just discovered that I didn't put my father on the application list. I somehow put on my mom but not my dad...
Do you think the interviewer will let me add another person on the spot?

Also, what if you don't have a lease with your landlord. I have lived in the same place for 11 years and never had a lease. There's only mutual agreement. If I ask my landlord to provide a letter, do you think the management office will take it?

Thank you so much.

-Sugar

According to the Marketing Guidelines, you are not allowed to add or subtract anyone except for marriage, divorce, death, adoption, etc.

As far as your landlord goes, he or she can write a letter for you, and I assume you have check stubs to prove you paid.

If I were you, I would go to the interview with your entire family. When my friend interviewed for her apartment last year, she said a guy who had applied alone showed up with a wife and two kids! So the interviewers have seen it all.

Yes. I guess. So. The interviewers must have seen it all.

I can't believe this happened. I have only submitted one application where I FORGOT to write my father on... and that did it. I am sure my dad will come with me.

I'm now trying to get a letter from my landlord. Hopefully she's willing to give me one in such a short time.

I am going to write up to the management company now to confirm...

The letter will need to be notarized. Most banks can do that for you.
