If you get arrested you get a lawyer. Now if you don't show up at court date, you get convicted and they can come looking for you.
But an arrest for a fight is probably a misdemeanor, and if you don't have a major criminal record the judge will give you an ACD . Don't get in trouble in that time frame, and it gets erased.
You sure it gets completely erased, as in expunged? I don't think so. I think they just seal the arrest, meaning that one can see that you were arrested, but not for what. I could be wrong. Airborne would probably know better.

Ok so you admit that this place attracts a ghetto element, admit that City Island is just an ordinary neighborhood (the OP noted that it was "City Island" as if such behavior isn't the norm when the weather is warm) and wonder why I'm questioning the big deal? Yes, City Island is fine but it is no Hamptons where such behavior would really be shocking. The rowdy behavior happens there a lot during the warmer parts of the year which is why the residents leave to avoid the mess. The only difference is it usually doesn't make the paper.
