Absolutely. My retirement residency will be set up before I pull the plug so as to take affect immediately. I have no intention of ever being subject to NY's unconstitutional gun laws. I'm planning to move to a no permit state, of which there are many. New Hampshire just became one this past week!

Contrary to one of the above anti-Constitution posters, "gun crime" is not the fault of guns or gun owners. Gun crime in democrat-led, inner-cities is the fault of their criminals and their policies, period. That is why strict gun laws do nothing: guns and gun owners who follow laws are not the problem.

Maybe one day the democrat party can disappear and we can have a serious conversation about combatting crime without being called racists.

Hopefully, when baby boomers die, when can begin having common sense conversations about nation wide constitutional gun control.
Wow. Just wow. You are so brainwashed.

From your ignorance I can tell you've never attempted to exercise you constitutional 2nd ammendment right. If you had you would realize how extremely burdensome it is.

Spare me the nonsense about its necessary because guns kill people. We can all agree bad guys shouldn't have guns. But guess what? They do, and they will. Your not going to stop it. No law will stop it. Criminals by their very definition don't care about laws.

All NYs gun control rights suppression does is hinder LAW ABIDING citizens from defending themselves and exercising their constitutional right.

Let's set up poll taxes and 1year+ wait times and numerous references with court procedings and judges discretion to decide who is eligible to vote, or to allow someone to say something unpopular. It's infringement of rights. Period. You may not like it But it's fact.

Astorian:

I live in Maryland which has more or less the same kind of gun regulations as New York.

Maryland is bordered by DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Delaware.

With the exception of DC, all of those states have looser gun regulations than Maryland. However, I am NOT permitted as a Maryland resident to cross the Potomac and purchase a gun in Virginia or any of those other states.

I respect your aversion to firearms, but you will never make any gains if you continue to believe in fallacies.

The illegal gun market derives from stolen guns, straw purchases, and illegal imports from the Third World.

well that didn't work as planned either .

"Signed into law on July 22, 2004, by President George W. Bush and codified as 18 U.S.C. §§ 926B & C, LEOSA was intended to afford qualified active (QLEO) and qualified retired law enforcement officers (QRLEO) the privilege of carrying a concealed firearm in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and all other U.S. possessions (except the Canal Zone) notwithstanding any other provision of the law of any state or political subdivision thereof.

LEOSA sounds pretty cut and dried. But unfortunately, it isn't.

Vague language, confusing amendments, and a relative shortage of interpretive case law have allowed scuttlebutt and confusion to take over common sense application of its principles."

Does the LEOSA Carry Law Apply to You? - Article - POLICE Magazine
I don't think law enforcement officers should be given carte blanche to carry anywhere they want especially outside of their jurisdiction area. Federal law enforcement like FBI and US Marshalls sure but not local, county or state. And if you retire from law enforcement you should be held to the same regulations as everybody else.

There's nothing like the Second Amendment relating to ham radio. And the Second Amendment has already been found to confir and individual right, and that right is binding on all levels of government. And, it's very likely the conservative, pro-Second Amendment majority of the SCOTUS will be restored before any case relating to this law (if it gets passed), would get to the court.

since ham radio is governed by federal regulation one club took it to federal court .

in a nutshell the judge ruled that ham radio is governed under federal law and towns have to abide by those laws , and support and work with the ham radio operators .

then he stopped short of saying just what support and work with the ham radio operators actually meant .

the judge later said he left it open ended because he realizes local jurisdictions need the ability to do what is best for them so he stopped short of telling them just what it is they have to do other than work with the hams to find a solution that is acceptable .

you can be sure no matter what is done on a federal level nyc will not only never accept out of state carry permits but we will never see them ourselves issued freely .

nyc found away to make even the federal transportation laws which allow transportation between states invalid when it comes to nyc permit holders with valid residence permits transporting their firearms to other states .

i had a 2nd home in pa and while federal law says i can transport to pa and even shoot at local ranges, nyc says otherwise . we cannot transport to other states by court ruling because the way our residence permits are worded they are invalid off premise doing anything but going to an authorized nypd range or hunting in state .

therefore the guns are not legally held the courts said when off premise and they are not subject to protection under federal laws which allow interstate transport of legally held firearms .

pa requires no permit to shoot at local ranges . they only require your guns be legally held . the court ruling in ny made them no longer legally held outside of the parameters defined by nypd .

no matter what bill is passed you can be sure nyc will find a way to get around it .

Mathjak has been too beaten down by NY's reality to see that most of the country does not operate this way and that the tides are turning even more. He also seems, correct me if I am wrong, to agree a bit with how things are here.
