Yesterday, a friend of mine invited me to his apartment in the Bronx, and omg, I must say, that the views to his apartment were *GORGEOUS* You can see all of Manhattan from top to bottom! All the way from the World Trade Center to literally the George Washington Bridge - Inwood, and then some!: Parts of the Bronx- the Tracy Towers, and parts of Yonkers. No wonder these developers are salivating to develop the Bronx!

Some of these Bronx developments have Long Island City type views. I absolutely loved his apartment - nice balcony to sit out and sturdy concrete apartments. So for anyone who is contemplating on whether they should move to the Bronx or not, I would say look before you decide! Don't let the stigma of being in the Bronx make you think you're going to live in crappy conditions. These are not the 80s!

Is there a place that does a nice breakdown of how much housing is added (subtracting what's been lost) in NYC on a yearly or even monthly basis?

30 years? So you're talking about the 90s, when there was a housing bubble and no one in NYC was building or developing? (My brother went to architecture school and graduated in 93. He had to scrap that as a life choice because building was almost non-existent.)

The bottom line is we don't know what will happen. From observation, NYC has changed more in the past 10 years than it did in the previous 30.

Huge improvement over what they were building from the 80s to 2000s.

I'm curious to know if they were even building many apartment buildings (6+ units) in the 80s and 90s, or if the rebuilding of the Bronx at that time was strictly rowhome with front driveway oriented.
