A 22 old kid got shot in the face dead over the weekend on Flushing ave outside a nightclub.

A couple weeks back a lady was shot by a stray bullet at Myrtle and Central.

A couple weeks prior to that the cops shot a kid dead that robbed, I think beer, from a bodega. I think he flashed a fake gun or something.

But crime is down.

Oh pierrepont. Again with the evading. I live in Sunnyside. My very first post on this board was about looking for an apartment and I told people where I landed. Now you!

To answer the OP's question is tough. Each borough has its good spots and rough spots. In terms of most noticeable, the obvious is South/West bronx and Brownsville in BKN. East New York is still in that conversation as well; East Harlem (above east 115th street) is an area that I would avoid unless there was no other way to get to a destination.

Now, if you're a tourist, you are likely to be more intimidated by places like Bushwick that are changing rapidly, but still have a reputation that makes you concerned.
