I like .99 pizza (actually $1) usually very much.
Probably the best are Sixth Ave just South of Eighth St. and Ninth Avenue and 42nd and
west side of Broadway between 54th and 55th.

They keep coming to me:
Good slices at W.44th a couple doors West of Eight Ave.

Probably these are my faves because there is always a fast turnover and the slices never wait around getting cold.

In the last 10 years I had only one truly wretched slice...at 37th and Ninth. It was ice cold.

These $1 places in Manhattan are quickly going out of business

The one on Broadway & Franklin is gone, the one on Canal & West Broadway is now triple priced

There's still one on Broadway and Walker but the quality sucks pretty bad compared to roll 'n go

Of course -- dollar-pizza is for homeless people!

That "Three Bros." chain is total garbage: so little cheese the bread often leavens through on every slice -- and sometimes in more than one spot! I'm talkin' about their locations in Harlem, near Fulton Street Brooklyn, and Greenwich Village. Of course, this chain is owned by the "tribe" of "usual suspects" so what do you expect (which reminds me: does anyone actually ask for their penny back?)....

Better are the ones owned and operated by South Asians (Indo-Pak/Bangladehsi/whatever), such as at Third Avenue and 149th Street in The Bronx or near Fulton Street in Brooklyn -- a bit more cheese so that the dough isn't always leavening through, etc.

That's impossible, wasting a dollar on pizza would mean one less dollar for a bottle of liquor or shot of heroin. Pizza comes from begging people to get it for them in between hits

I went to this one the other day. Not bad.

I like the dollar slice on 149th & 3rd right where the Checkers used to be. Solid slices. I don’t think value slices are for the homeless. I believe the fast food industry is starting to tap into the ‘Under the Influence’ market, which includes bud smokers. Price everything low so when people get fu**ed up, they know where to go
