As medical marijuana is legal in NY, this pertains to NYC.

Congress is not going to allow Trump to go after the marijuana industry or increase the war on drugs. If Congress wants to, they could legalize marijuana or all drugs. The President and the executive branch cannot make laws, nor do the set the budget.

If Trump defies Congress on this funding, order the courts could rule federal drug laws unconstitutional (or Congress can repeal them as I said before).

What some Trump supporters AND Trump haters don't understand is no matter how much or how big Trump talks, he is not the king or the emperor of the US and the US is a constitutional Republic. Congress makes the laws and sets the budget, and the courts interpret the laws according to the US constitution. To change the constitution you need a 2/3rds majority from Congress and 3/4ths of the states to ratify.

I read in real news stories that he wouldn't be concentrating on marijuana anyway, and that he will concentrate on hard drugs.

Congress has given a lot of money to fund treatment for opiate addiction. Much of this addiction to prescription pain killers. The nation is moving away from arresting drug dealers which does not stop the use of drugs, and putting more money into treatment for addicts.

"Democrats got wins in including $295 million in help to Puerto Rico continue to make payments to Medicaid, $100 million to combat opiate addiction and increases to energy and science funding. Planned Parenthood is also slated to continue to receive federal funding."

It already is. If you call the cops on someone for smoking weed they'd laugh at you.

No one gets locked up for bud unless you have more than half a pound of it. And even that, after they test the product for actual substance, it'll come out to be even less than that, and you walk free. Just don't carry heat while you're smoking a blunt.
