The obvious one is in Union Square. I must admit that while I love organic products, I don't buy often from farmer's markets because I want to get everything quickly in one place. I tend to stop at Whole Foods 2 - 3 times a week to ensure that I get everything fresh and eliminate wasting food, therefore trips are timed for me to be in and out quickly. However I do buy ready-to-eat products such a baked goods from farmer's markets, and I will stroll by when I have time. I like that one in particular because there are a few restaurants that I frequent that get their products from there, and the food is just fantastic. Eating organic is very important to me, but so is eating local, and just about all of those guys are from nearby locations upstate, so you really know that you're getting great products and supporting the local economy.

I don't know if the markets themselves are organic, but the Union Square one certainly has vendors who are. That's where I go. Most particularly for tomatoes in the summer.

That's correct. Not all of the vendors sell organic products, just some. I personally would only go for hard-to-find products.

I never been at Union Square But it's good yo know.. I went to Prospect Park/ Plaza and to next to Brooklyn Court farmers market, and now to Green point farmers market. I bought bread, eggs, tomatoes , green young garlic, onion. What I like about that, that those fresh produce and bread I'm buying never going to be wasted. When I buy from stores, specialy on sale, many of that then wasted just of because you got it at cheep, you got it too much.

Note that they are only there Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Saturdays are the worst, as it is almost impossible to walk around at times, so I tend to stay away. Fridays are more tolerable if you can't go during the other days, and if they don't have what you need, you have Whole Foods a short walk away. The Union Square Whole Foods despite the crowds is still one of my favorite stores, going back to when it first opened over 10 years ago. Their baked goods and prepared foods are the best. Their pizza options though are generally lack luster compared to other locations.
