Whoops, just noticed OP said other than Coney Island, but you're really grasping for straws. There's just not many amusement parks in the five boroughs. Although it would be cool to have a Six Flags Staten Island. Better yet, forget it, too much traffic

Besides Freedomland in the Bronx there was a small 7-8 ride amusement park also in the Bronx right across from the Bronx Zoo on Southern Blvd and Fordham Rd way back when.

There was also Rockaway Playland in Queens and Adventurer's Inn also in Queens in College Point.

Palisades in New Jersey was the park every kid wanted to go to in those days.

Up until the 80s there was a place in Queens (with another location in Yonkers) called Adventurer's Inn. You could see it from the Whitestone, but I never went to that location, only the one in Yonkers. They had a bunch of rides, many of them kiddie rides that looked like they were sold off from Coney.

Mainly Adventurer's was popular among my peers for their arcade and for their diner where people (who in retrospect remind me of Mac's mother from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) could chain smoke and drink sh11y coffee while waiting for a bus to Atlantic City so they could play the slots.

There was an amusement park called Fairyland at Woodhaven Blvd & Queens Blvd. It closed in the 60s. The site is now Queens Center Mall. Land values rose and these places closed

Most have closed down. Besides Rye, there is one old-fashioned amusement park in Farmingdale, Long Island, but there's no public transportation nearby.

I played my first video game, "pong" in Playland.

South Beach on SI once had amusements as well.

Lots of the local places closed as more and more people got motor vehicles (or access) and coupled with the new highways/bridges could go out of NYC to say New Jersey.

Jersey Shore for instance was and to a point still is a big thing with Staten Island residents. Back before Asbury Park, Wildwood and a few other places became a dump, that is where you spent much of your summer. Then Great Adventure opened which helped kill off Palisades .

In fact am willing to guess most Staten Islanders then knew more from New Jersey places like Raceway Park, Action Park, etc.... than Coney Island.
