After reading an article about MTA Subway issue, it got me thinking about what can I do in the event that I am stuck in a subway.

What would you do if the train just stop, and the light is out, and you can't seem to go anywhere other than listen to the announcement from the train crew?

I may be insane, but I think I'd sit quietly and listen, because

Does anyone remember how in the 1980's the lights in the subway used to go out for hours on end but the train used to continue riding people as if nothing?

I'd pull out my smartphone, turn on the flashlight function and continue reading my newspaper (or read the book I have in it's memory).

Nurse my baby, check cell phone reception, keep clear of loose cannons, stay as cool (in all senses of the word) as possible, and make conversation with a neighbour out of boredom.

Things you would not see me doing include:
-marching out onto the track against crew advice
-crying
-heaven forbid, squatting to pee out the subway door
