Im from New Jersey and im looking to move to NYC. I have a pretty tight budget and im looking for a place in any of the boroughs except for Staten Island that is cheap. The safety of the neighborhood isnt exactly an issue right now. I know Harlem isnt cheap anymore and places like the Lower East Side arnt realy anymore. i maybe wrong about that one. Can anyone please tell me.

This depends on what you consider cheap and how far you are willing to travel if you need to commute. Can you give more specifics?
