Hi, everyone!! I am new here and I reside in Brooklyn (I am a lifelong resident). I am 21 and an aspiring saxophonist passionate about music that wants to strengthen my proficiency on the instrument at Brooklyn Music School, then eventually become a saxophone instructor. I haven't had the opportunity to take lessons often because of the cost of it. I spoke to the music school already. From their end, They said that their policy is that I need to pay 1 month of lessons before receiving help from their scholarship even though I have a budget letter from SNAP ( I am a full time college student) & which I understand, because everything is a process. Is there any alternate scholarship/aid program that can help me pay for the lessons? In this case I would like to take four 45 minute lessons a week for an indefinite time at the music school starting in the fall (costs $50*4=200 monthly ) How should I go about this?
On the other hand, if you are legit and your monthly expense of the lessons is $200, I am willing to cover a month's worth (especially if that's all it take for the school's aid system to kick in?) and I'm sure that we can find a few more members here that would be willing to do the same.
