Oh it just keeps getting better and better! He keeps ensuring he will get re-elected with these moves!

NYC is tossing a mountain of ‘broken windows’ warrants | New York Post

“Broken Windows” is getting smashed to pieces.

Starting next month, the city is tossing 700,000 old warrants seeking arrest for low-level crimes such as public urination, sources said — reversing decades of strict enforcement.

Mayor de Blasio, the NYPD and four of the city’s five district attorneys have signed off on the plan, which would apply only to warrants older than 10 years, according to a spokeswoman for
City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viv*erito, who has pushed for the amnesty.

Viverito and DeBlasio are poverty pimps. They consistently undermine the safety of NYPD and the ctizens here by pandering to the low life criminals and all those on the dole. They know what they are doing.....politics here is like a cult. You know ....allow the criminals and low lives to do whatever they want because poor them...its not thier fault. Makes you question why the rest of us put up with this nonsense. I guess thats why so many successful and decent members of society are leaving this city and this state. But hey the masses voted and this is what the reality is now. If it were the opposite way there would be riots in the streets.

Oh yeah "the safety of the NYPD" the biggest gang in the world, fourth biggest standing army in the world. Poor NYPD. We pratically live in a totalitarian police state

And sorry if sane people think jay-walkers and fare-beaters shouldn't be spending time in jail.

Jay walking is fine, but I do tend to like harsher penalties. Anyways, inb4 crime spikes.

Tossing things such as public urination should not be happening. Once saw a man on the subway pissing in the corner. These sorts of things only keep ghetto areas ghetto because there are no repercussions for these acts. The streets are already filthy enough.

Cool but, nope.... nobody said poor NYPD but, you have seen the news recently no? I guess you think Miosotis deserved what she got huh? How sick. She was an example of a good officer and she came from NYC and was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She was one of the people as much as she was an officer.

Again do they (NYPD) have bad apples? sure. Are all police officers bad or unprofessional...no. If you think that THIS society is better off without police I say that is insane. No one said jay walking was a horrendous offense that should result in jail.... wow. As far as fare beating...you do it - you get a ticket. You don't pay it - you get a warrant. You play the game and those are the rules. How is it ok that someone doesn't pay? I have to pay so I don't appreciate that mentality. And if you are that kind of person, who knows what other bad decisions you make!

Warrants are usually issued when people don't pay tickets and/or fail to show up for DAT's and court hearings. Many times these low level warrants especially for fare beating are not even followed through on unless there is a huge warrant sweep due to gang related or other serious crimes. So stop it.

Totalitarian nanny state is what you live in thanks to your liberal poverty pandering politicians and all of the people who cause issues so we constantly have to be policed. I think your anger is misdirected. Always easier to blame others for societies ills. Have fun with that my friend.

I completely agree with you. Yeah and then to have to explain to your kid why some grown man whipped out his p%$is in public to pi#@ in the street. You do that in front of me or any children and it ain't gonna end well. People love to romanticize this bull%&^$. Truth is society is falling apart, and it sucks that the decent people with moral compass have to be told...we can't say this or that because we are racist or judging a group wrongly. Oh boo hoo poor them. Let me get out the worlds smallest violin and play a sad song. That's why when you go to the ghetto there is garbage all over. It's not that NYC sanitation does a poor job (well they might sometimes). It's that some people have the mentality that it is the JOB and RESPONSIBILITY of others to clean up after them. 1st world problems....what a bunch of crap lol Excuses on top of excuse for those that make life here hell.

If all this makes real estate prices go down it's time to pull out the champagne. The Giuliani era is over! As is any influence he had in NY politics! For those leaving bye, bye!

Real estate prices in NYC coming down? LOL not happening. The foreigners with money come here to snatch up condos and rentals as a pied-à-terre or investment property. And international investment/development firms are using the EB5 program to obtain assets. And tons of landlords accept government programs so they charge market rate rents and taxpayer funds make up the difference. I don't see those rents coming down either.

What most of us law abiding and hard working individuals do is move into a better area/buildings and leave the cesspool to those who enjoy it, and sadly to those who can't escape. If the hood was so fantastic then why do people move out the minute that they can? Sounds counter-intuitive. Meanwhile in Mott Have they have the Piano Factory so ....you thought LMAO. We will be saying bye but not to those who you think

Real estate prices only skyrocketed when people were convinced that supposedly Giuliani and Bloomberg had cleaned up NYC. Keep convincing people that de Blasio has taken the city back to the 80s, and yes prices will come down as NY becomes less popular.
