Too expensive for what it is. Studios start at $2,150. Cannot fathom paying that in that area. Have people standing outside smoking or whatever just across the street, and that supermarket is insanely overpriced and rundown. Organic milk is close to $6.00.
Yeah I can't afford that either.

For $2150 for a studio in that area, would expect more. They skimped on the finishes.

I agree. Look at them cheap ass handles on the bathroom cabinets. U want good looking apts? Look at 1770 Madison. For East Harlem the whole building including the interiors are nicely done

Yep! That’s the one. They made the grocery store a little better. Don’t know if it’s the same owners of the last one at the corner of 117th. Hope they put something EH needs in that ground floor space

i make 55k
doesn't mean i make a lot
the max rent i can afford is 1350 and i would not have any social life
but these lotteries are always between 10k to 30k
if you see anything 50 and up is always like 10 apartments or less
makes no god damn sense.
It took me a while to understand this until I researched it and found out the following. (I researched it because they wanted to tag me with a 2500+ rent for the ridiculous Stuyvesant Houses):
A single person who makes 55K is supposed to be between 80% and 100%AMI. She or he is supposed to pay between $1,375 and $1,733 for a one bedroom apartment.
Here's the way they calculate "affordability," though: A tenant is not supposed to have more than 30% of overall debt - with debt that includes credit cards, medical bills, and student loans. If you make 100K, and you have 30K and one cent over worth of debt, you're out.
If in one month, you pay more than 60% worth of bills (includes the new affordable rent tagged on to your overall monthly debt load), you will be automatically disqualified.
