SOME of the people who go homeless are working people. The others are people who put themselves and their children in that situation because of their own bad choices. People on City Data spending more time judging supposedly bad people than dealing with their own lives. Look at Aquarius. He might want to focus only on what he is doing, since that's all he can control. That's true if all of us. The very people complaining about NYC's poor are also the ones complaining about being priced out. Maybe this wouldn't be of a concern if they took care of their own careers.
