yawn!!
what a big dud that turned out to be.
we had the glasses in the office, part of the sun was covered, it looked cool, that was it.
I expected it to get fully dark out at 3pm or so, it didnt.
nothing.
it is darker at 4:30 in December.
what a big disappointment. If no one said there was going to be an eclipse, by sitting at my desk gazing out the window, Ida thought a few dark cloud passed.
yawn.
I too, looked up at it for a few seconds, I'm not blind, but did see spots for a few.....
I really enjoyed it, especially at work we got to see it from the window and then outside with lots of other people out and and about on the street seeing other new yorkers enjoying it. I'm usually carmugenonly af, but today was a good day. Yes, the sky didn't get dark, but was anyone expecting that? it was just awesome to stare at the sun and see the moon steal it's thunder for a few hours.
I looked too and didn't go blind. They always tell you not to do stuff or you'll go blind.
Was with a friend who was taking pics with a DSLR that came out great.
I've done "that other thing" a lot. That's how I knew it was a farce! Lol
I put together two pair of sunglasses and looked at the crescent Sun at maximum with light clouds passing over. It was nice and I can still see.
It was okay and I welcomed the 5 degree temperature drop on a very hot afternoon.
Totality would have been nice, but then, Hell, I went to Woodstock. Can't have it all.
