I hope this works out for your aunt. She, or you acting on her behalf, should not hesitate to call or email the marketing agent if more than two weeks go by without a response on the appeal. I think once her subsidies are totaled she'll prevail and at least get an interview, which is really just a review of the documents. She could still get rejected down the line, but at least she'll have a fighting chance. And do take Macny's excellent suggestion about getting a copy of the Marketing Guidelines (Googleable). Read the sections on income (all types), Section 8 etc., whatever applies to her (fortunately, there's a table of contents). The applicant needs to become the expert, because the authorities who are supposed to be the experts are sadly failing in that role.
Is there an appeal sample letter for income requirements? How formal does the letter of appeal have to be?
I think as long as you point out why you feel you should still qualify because:
A.
B.
C.
For each reason you also explain what you have provided as supporting documentation should be good enough.. Leaving no room for no discrepancies..Others may have different ways of writing letter..
The appeal doesn't have to be a literary masterpiece. But just be clear on why you're appealing--and state that right at the top in the first paragarph. Build your case in the following paragraphs, point by point. Do not include more than one point per paragraph. You need to keep the appeal focused. One point per paragraph. Period. If you have supporting documents that you didn't previously submit (maybe you didn't have them, maybe they weren't asked for), include those. Try to keep the appeal to a page. You need to write succinctly but not leave anything out, and that can be tough. You have 10 business days to get the appeal in, so don't just dash it off. Do at least one draft. Sleep on it. Re-read, tweak and send. Good luck. And send it in a way that requires a signature--that way they can't claim they never received it.
