Exactly. There isn't a Caribbean country that one can go to where there isn't Jamaican influence. Reggaeton now is highly popular in Cuba, the DR. PR and elsewhere.

Some one screaming that Trinidadian culture dominates the Caribbean is a simpleton and even a xenophobe.

Caribbean cultures overlap and so cross over and some countries have a more dominant music seen for a variety of reasons. But to suggest that Caribbean culture is only reggae or soca can only be made by some North American raised kid who has a very narrow notion of what Caribbean culture is.

In fact one can go to the Seychelles or Mauritius and see Caribbean type cultures. Does this person think that Trinidadians conquered there as well. Or is that the cultures arise under certain conditions no matter whether it is in the Caribbean or the Indian Ocean.

.

So then Jamaica defines being the Caribbean and using your narrow definition of what Caribbean is Trinidad isn't.

A Jamaican might appear on the scene and put you right there in your place.

I cannot really imagine the depths of nonsense this Trumplke creature has carried this discussion with his xenophobic exaltation of Trinidad.

Guyanese couldn't give a damn about whether the Caribbean Sea touches them and are proud of being on the South American continent. The fact that you are ashamed to be proud of being a South American island and prefer to run behind Jamaica which does have the Caribbean Sea is your problem.

FACT. Trinidad, Guyana, Suriname, French Guyane, though linked to South America are CULTURALLY Caribbean. Trinidad shares the flora, fauna, and geological base of South America which is DOES NOT with any Caribbean island.

Soon you will scream that Trinidad took over French Guyane as well.

I am not the xenophobe that you are. BTW I am waiting for you to discuss why in 2005 UWI students had to protest that they were BARRED entry to a nightclub in TRINIDAD. Is Trinidad like the South circa 1960!

Oh Lord., Why don't you go waive a Confederate flag. Oh I forgot Trinidadians waive the Confederate flag when they cannot find a T&T flag. No wonder in 2005 racists still barred blacks from entering some nightclubs on that island.
